The atmosphere in London on a Friday night is absolutely unbeatable and unmissable – and tonight it was especially so. The current heatwave and sunshine has taken us and 7 million other Londoners by surprise – and in an attempt to cool down we went down to the South Bank for some al fresco drinks at the Roof Top Gardens. Turns out 7 million other Londoners had the same brilliant idea, but we managed to find a cosy little spot on the grass where we enjoyed views of chic ladies, weekend-hungry businessmen and the river Thames.
Aside from wine, beers and Pimm’s they only served one cocktail – but it turned out to be exactly what I needed! It was called “English Garden”, and it was a super tasty and refreshing mix of elderflower juice, lemon, cucumber, gin and orange. Probably my new summer favourite!
Afterwards we explored the gardens and assaulted scarecrows:
Now, if you feel you need to make use of the sunshine, the Roof Top Gardens is the place to go! Classes don’t start until next week, so we are living life to the full this weekend!
