As we have 6 weeks off until exams start, I am flying transatlantic in two days to visit Valerie and her brother Drew in Philadelphia and New York! I haven’t been to the US for nearly a decade, so I am very excited to be going Stateside again!
Having seen most of the touristy stuff (especially in New York), our agenda for the two cities are as follows: The Benjamin Franklin Museum, Rodin Museum, MOMA, The MET, Valerie’s all-American High School in Springfield, THON Dance Marathon in fundraising for childhood cancer, Wegmans gigantic supermarket, Philadelphia cheesesteaks, Lips Drag Show, Hooters, various Broadway musicals (hopefully including “How to Succeed in Business without even Trying” starring Daniel Radcliffe), a visit to the Amish people, Longwood Gardens, boat ride in Central Park, NY Wall Street, East Village etc. In other words, 9 hectic and exciting days consisting of sadly little exam revising!
*Packing packing packing*
I have decided to spend my 8 hours on the plane reading Murakami’s bestseller “Norwegian Wood”. Been planning to do it for a long time, and being stuck on a plane I really have no excuse anymore! Some people say it is very abstract and pompous, others describe it as “amazing”. Very anxious to read it!
Oh yes, just had to splurge some money on a t-shirt to show some uni pride:
See you in Americaaaaa!! (If my confused little self actually manage to get across the Atlantic…).
